On December 8th, 2021, the City of Doral received the prestigious honor of being designated as a “City of Flowers” by the Society of American Florists (SAF). SAF is the leading association in the nation providing marketing, government advocacy, industry intelligence, guidance, and best practices information for all participants in the U.S. floral industry. As the most significant hub of floral products in the country, Doral’s floral businesses generate thousands of local jobs and millions in tax revenue for the region. We are proud to be designated a “City of Flowers”, and to collaborate with SAF to further promote the local floral businesses and raise awareness about the importance of this industry in our region. Thank you to all the key flower importers and floral professionals that were present to celebrate this important milestone that will continue to help elevate our Doral local businesses.
The City of Doral, is one of thirty-four municipalities in Miami-Dade County, Florida. Conveniently located just one mile from Miami International Airport and twelve miles from Downtown Miami, Doral is home to approximately 68,000 residents and regularly hosts in excess of 100,000 people who work within the City.
The City of Doral is the largest floral industry hub in the United States. It is home to the largest importers and distributors of fresh cut flowers and other floral products. Roughly 86 percent of the approximately 4.5 billion fresh-cut flowers imported into the United States every year comes through Miami and ends up in Doral.
